Decker Family
The Decker Family also came from Germany and settled in the Sheboygan area. In 1862, there were Draft Riots, protesting the practice of rich men paying someone else to serve their term. See Ozaukee County Draft Riots. A Henry Decker is listed as one of the men arrested in connection with the riot that occured on November 10, 1862. It is not known if this is the same Henry Decker from my family or not. Heinrich (Henry) Decker enlisted in the Union Army during the Civil War. After his discharge, he married Justine Louise Wilhimine Schwarze. They then moved to Clark County and settled in the Greenwood, Wisconsin area. In the 1920's some of the Decker descendents moved west and settled in Montana, Wyoming and other western states. Go to Decker PDF for complete linage.
