The Arnhoelters immigrated from Germany. Part of the family immigrated to Sheboyan while others moved to the Indianapolis area. Wilhelmina "Louise" Henrietta Arnhoelter married Carl August Franz and moved to Clark County with him. Her younger sister, Wilhelmine "Henriette" Arnhoelter married George Schmitt, who became a prominent buisness man in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Carl Friederich stayed in the Sheboygan Area also. Mary (Maria Christine) Arnhoelter lived in Indianapolis and married Fredrick Kissle. Johann and Fridrich also lived in Indianapolis and had buisnesses as harness makers.
